MOMI 2019: Le Monde des Mathematiques Industrielles

We are very pleased to announce the implementation of “The World of Industrial Mathematics” – “Le Monde des Mathématiques Industrielles” (MOMI2019), a two day workshop on Applied and Industrial Mathematics.

Following the model of the previous two successful editions (MOMI2017 and MOMI2018), the goal of MOMI2019 is to allow young researchers to discover the link between the industrial world and applied mathematics, and familiarize themselves with such approaches and related companies.

This year we have invited three very influential keynote speakers from the fields of “Big Data and Machine Learning“: Pr. Frédéric Precioso, Full Professor at the Engineering school Polytech’Nice, Head of MinD research group in Machine Learning and Data Mining; Pr. Philippe Preux, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Lille 3 and Head of the SequeL project, INRIA Lille-Nord Europe and CRIStAL, CNRS, Université de Lille; and Pr. Ioannis Tsamardinos, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Crete and co-founder of Gnosis Data Analysis PC, a University start-up. We will also be welcoming a number of local industrialists and entrepreneurs that will present us their point of view and the mathematical problems that they deal with, and exchange directly with the students, discussing job opportunities. Finally, we will be hosting a poster session for which we encourage you to send an abstract.

MOMI2019 is a project supported by Inria and financed by the Université Côte d’Azur within the context of the “Joint, Excellent and Dynamic Initiative” (JEDI) projects, by the Labex User Centric Network @ Sophia within the context of Investissement d’Avenir (IA) projects – projets “Laboratoires d’excellence” and by the Agence pour les Mathématiques en Interaction avec l’Entreprise et la Société (AMIES). As for companies, the project is also supported by OLEA Medical and Thales Alenia Space.

The workshop will be taking place on February 25th and 26th, 2019, at the Inria Sophia Antipolis-Mediteranée research center. A forum to allow the direct exchange with companies will be set up.

Doctoral schools (ED-STIC and SFA) will give credits for participating at MOMI2019. Check it here!

In hopes of having motivated your interest, we invite you to click here (link coming soon) to register in the workshop.

We look forward to seeing you at MOMI2019!
